New Laws we need: no 1 in a continuing series.
Mostly, we don’t need new laws. But sometimes we do, and I shall from time to time be proposing them.
Freedom of Information Amendment
1. A public authority, having complied with a request for information under Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, shall publish all information it has provided under Section 1(1) of that Act in a searchable form on its website.
2.No public authority, or any body licensed by it, shall be entitled to enforce against any member of the public, or any other body or organisation, any rights of copyright or similar rights subsisting in material communicated under Section 1(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
